About Feisty Fighters
Our mission is “Bringing hope and help to those fighting cancer”. We serve this mission by providing financial support to cancer patients through the Feisty Fighters grant program. As you can imagine, this financial support comes at a crucial time when finances at home are tight due to missing work for treatments, accumulating medical bills, gasoline to get to appointment, medications, co-pays, wigs, hotel stay and so much more.

The Feisty Fighters continues to be a volunteered based organization. We are bless with our group of supporters who directly impact the lives of those affected by cancer. We are proud of what we do – because we know that every dollar counts and every LIFE matters!

Save the Date! Knickers Fore Knockers...and More is scheduled for
May 12-13, 2023!

About the Beer:
In March 2021, Jess, a brewer at Kinship Brewing Company, tested positive for the BRCA 2 genetic mutation. BRCA stands for the Breast Cancer gene. She had a 90% risk factor for Breast Cancer, an 84% risk for Ovarian Cancer and a 56% risk for Pancreatic Cancer. May 28, 2021, she went in for a Double Mastectomy, straight to flat. She continues to screen for other high-risk cancers every 3 months. November 11, 2021, she had a second breast surgery to clean up some areas that were flaring up. Scars are Beautiful is her story and probably many others, about how recovery and adjusting to your new body is hard. It’s traumatic and life changing but through it all, it can be beautiful. Jess's scars tell a journey she's been on and continues to be on. It’s scary, it’s devastating but it saved her life. With your help, we can save other lives. Jess and Kinship host Iowa’s largest breast cancer 5k and are proud to take this beer nationwide in 2022!
